A close friend of mine has numerous amaryllises in bloom each winter. This year I went over to visit and she had probably 20 of them blooming, each a unique shape and color.

Some with huge blooms that had colors that seemed impossibly rich with stamen that elegantly curled from their centers. I was inspired to make a full plant with stalk, roots and all but then decided to create individual flowers for those who wanted a smaller piece. It worked pretty well as the blooms are beautiful enough to be stand alone pieces.

This handmade amaryllis or belladonna lily sculpture is wall hanging, made entirely of stainless steel, colored using only heat patinas and is safe to be kept outdoors!
