There’s something irresistible about daffodils — they’re like the trumpets of spring, announcing brighter days are here. I couldn’t resist translating that joy into metal. This stainless steel daffodil sculpture glows with golden heat patina, giving it a warmth and radiance that feels alive even in the dead of winter.
One of my favorite challenges in sculpting flowers is taking something so delicate and fleeting and making it permanent. With nothing but torch fire, I coaxed out rich golden tones from the steel, letting the light play across each petal so it shimmers from different angles.
Whether displayed indoors as a striking piece of metal flower art, or as a forever bloom in your garden or entryway, this daffodil is a reminder that beauty doesn’t have to fade. Unlike the real thing, this one won’t droop if you forget to water it.
For collectors of stainless steel sculpture or anyone who loves daffodils, it’s a little piece of spring that lasts forever.
This piece is wall hanging and should stay inside. If kept outside it will be structurally fine but the bright iridescent striping on the leaves will fade to a brownish color over time.
