Petunias are known for being bright and unapologetic, and that’s exactly the spirit I wanted to capture here — only in stainless steel. This oversized bloom demanded a lot of torch work, coaxing the metal through brilliant blues into deep purples. From there, I chased the form with a grinder, sketching in silver and gold accents by hand. The result is almost graphic in feel, as if the flower had been illustrated and then pulled into three dimensions.
The center is anchored with a detailed stamen bundle, drawing the eye inward and giving the piece a sense of movement radiating outward across each petal. Around the bloom, I added three leaves with bead-rolled veins. I kept them mostly silver but gave them just enough gold to create contrast — subtle support for the drama of the flower itself.
This petunia was made to be bold — a wall-hanging bloom that won’t fade, won’t droop, and definitely won’t go unnoticed.
This sculpture is safe to be kept outside.
