A friend who I have known since 3rd grade asked me to create a metal horse sign as a wedding gift for his wife to welcome people to their farm.

It was such an honor to be tasked with such a meaningful gift. We chatted a bit about ideas and settled on a horse with lettering surrounding it. I decided to go with a two dimensional approach on this sculpture. This was a fun challenge because I had to draw everything using a small pencil grinder. I ground everything and then colored it blue (the hottest color) then ground everything away except what I wanted to remain blue and then colored it purple (second hottest color). I repeated this process through the heat color spectrum until grinding the final silver details! I was quite happy with the final result and look forward to making more of these two dimensional metal signs and "sculptures."

This metal horse sign is wall hanging, made entirely of stainless steel, colored using only heat patinas, and is safe to be kept outdoors!
