Stainless steel is one of the most weather-resistant metals there is. It won't rust, corrode, or degrade in rain, sun, snow, humidity, or salt air. I have pieces that have been hanging outdoors for years and they look the same as the day I finished them. That durability is one of the things I love most about working with this material.
All of my outdoor metal sculptures are colored using only heat from torches. No paints, no dyes, no coatings. The blues, purples, golds, and silvers you see are created by carefully controlling the temperature of the flame on the metal's surface. Because these colors are part of the metal itself, they won't chip, peel, or wash away in the rain. They're permanent.
A note on my indoor-only pieces: some of my sculptures use iridescent heat patinas that create vivid greens and magentas. These colors are stunning but can fade to tans and browns with prolonged sun exposure. Those pieces are marked as indoor-only and are not included in this collection. The sculptures you see here use the stable end of the heat patina spectrum and will hold their color indefinitely.
Whether you're looking for metal garden sculpture for a backyard, a statement piece for a covered patio, or something bold enough to handle a coastal environment, everything below is built to last. And if you have a specific idea for a custom outdoor piece, I'd love to hear about it.
