I had made a couple North Carolina maps then a couple Montana maps and decided one day it might be fun to make a metal United States map of the whole continental US. So that's exactly what I did.

It was so satisfying to hand grind in the state lines and watch it start to take shape. This metal US map was a fun project because every state border told a little geographic story as I ground it in. I think next time I'll hammer in all the mountain ranges to add a bit more depth and complexity but overall I think it was a pretty good first attempt!
