There was something irresistible about daffodils. They're like the trumpets of spring, announcing brighter days ahead. I couldn't resist translating that joy into a stainless steel daffodil sculpture. With nothing but torch fire, I coaxed out rich golden tones from the metal, letting the light play across each petal so it shimmered from different angles.

One of my favorite challenges in sculpting metal flowers was taking something so delicate and fleeting and making it permanent. I loved how the golden heat patina gave this piece a warmth and radiance that felt alive even in the dead of winter.
